The Weblog Review
The Weblog Review

The Weblog Review was the first site I actually owned. It was originally programmed by someone else while I was still learning new web based programming languages. In April of 2002 I completely reprogrammed the entire site showing my ability to take existing code and database content and create a faster, feature rich site.

See Hits

See Hits was my first contract work. I was given the task to create a new design for the website's relaunch. Given the specifications I was able to quickly get the new design up and running. Other work with the site includes writing scripts to retrieve passwords, a more resources page, and a full administrative back panel. The original site is programmed with perl and C, while my scripts are written in php and are able to interact with the site.

Blog HQ

Blog HQ is the "parent" site for The Weblog Review, I Own These and Blog Control. It was created in April of 2002 with the newly programmed back end for The Weblog Review. With having as many visitors as I already had, I needed a way to let those same visitors have access to other pages that I had/would create that related. Blog HQ was the answer to that problem. Blog HQ offers a central account creation which can be used on The Weblog Review, Blog Control, and future sites with in the weblog community.

I Own These

I Own These was created out of frustration over not knowing what DVD's I owned. Originally I had the list in a simple spredsheet file but then when I lost that file due to a hard drive failure, I realized that I needed to keep the file on a remote location. While thinking about the remote location I knew that other people would be interested in using this site to keep track of stuff that they owned.

Blog Control

Blog Control was originally created using a public source script. However, due to lack of popularity Blog Control was shut down and reprogrammed from scratch. With a new thought and target in mind, Blog Control has quickly become one of the largest and fastest growing sites of its kind.

Site Mojo

Site Mojo is an advertising site created specifically for weblogs. While there are other sites that do similar things to Site Mojo, we believe our service is faster, and slicker. The site uses php to create javascript that the owners can easily add to their site to generate the advertising shown.

Contents Matter

Contents Matter is a directory for weblogs. Using information given to the Blog HQ network from other sites, the directory was quickly created and populated with information.

A Life Together

After getting married in August, I found a new type of target audience on the web: engaged couples. I had created a very basic website for my wife and I to use as a means to keep track of who was attending the wedding, updating information about the wedding, and to allow our guests to RSVP online saving them stamps. I knew that I could create a fully functional site that anyone would be able to use without any html skills. A Life Together is the acomplishment of this goal.
